Interesting how things change. In the late 80's and early 90's I knew of several local businesses that used Apple's because they were believed to be faster, more stable as well as more capable than similarly priced PC's. Now the Onion closes the linked article with the inquiry: Will the wheel catch on with businesses - users who do real work rather than just 'dicking' around?
I simply *have* to comment, but what to say? "cough cough" seems about right. And the price! I actually thought it was a joke at first. Where's "my" Apple Netbook?
I tried to buy one, but the guy in the Apple store said I'd need a trendier hair style and at least one body piercing before I'd be allowed to own one.
I think Greenjeans missed a beat though, the 'apple user' was part of the Onion setup. Even if it does probably capture some Apple afficionados (or at least the stereotype--I've yet to meet an Apple user like that).
The sad thing though is that I think this clip better captures Microsoft's 'success' in innovative design rather than Apple. Apple's products, after all, are going through the roof (well, until the financial crisis brought the whole computer market down and even then Apple's doing best), whereas Microsoft fails to compete anywhere where it doesn't have a locked down monopoly.
Its Microsoft who actually like to come out with what sounds like great ideas that actually aren't that useful. Surface anyone? :)
Now I'm off to figure out how to get the trendier hairstyle I apparently need and pick where to put that piercing that I don't yet have before someone spots me with my MBP...;)

ReplyDelete"I will buy anything that is shiny and made by Apple!" Give me a break! Tipifies Apple lovers...
ReplyDeleteLeave it to the Onion. :)
