About Me

Tech journalist since the dark ages. Windows Secrets, LangaList newsletter, Windows Magazine (NetGuide, Home PC), Byte, Popular Computing, yadda yadda yadda. Google me, if it matters.

This feed is mostly personal interest; it's NOT my professional writing. There's tech here, yes, but also lots of general science and some politics and weird humor thrown in.

Getting pea-sized hail now, in an otherwise nice Spring thunderstorm.

Hail is usually a full-Summer event. It's only just now entering full Spring here. It was unusual enough for me to call the Weather Service (I'm a registered weather spotter for them) and report it. The woman on the phone sounded as surprised as I was.

I don't see how you can pay the least bit of attention to the weather, and not notice that big, big changes are already happening, everywhere.
