great day at the tweetup #msl #nasatweetup

I'll get pix up ASAP, but that certainly doesn't mean "right away." <g>  It's 7:30pm now, and I just got back to my room. We have to meet at 6:15 AM tomorrow, so it's a short night.

But I will post what I can as time allows.

One special part of today was visiting the site of the original Saturn and Apollo launch pad --- not the one that was later used for the successful Moon launches (and until recently, for the Shuttle launches); but the very first one, where the Apollo 1 fire happened, killing Grissom, Chaffee and Young.

It's not open to the public, and not on standard tours. It's abandoned now; a site with ghosts.
