I pretty much knew all that, but I'm also pretty sure there shouldn't be a period after the E in e pluribus unum. I was in first grade when they changed the pledge, and I remember our teacher mentioning and praising the change. She led us to believe it was President Eisenhower's idea. Also, there is no comma before the phrase 'under God.' The pause that nearly everyone makes there is technically incorrect.
