The herring count continues apace:
Remember that the count isn't "all the fish;" but rather only "the fish seen during randomized 10-minute intervals through most daylight hours."
If you do the math, you'll see that the migrating herring are totally unobserved about 92% of the time --- no one's watching or counting for 22 hours a day.
And that makes the count-to-date more impressive.
