1976: Los Angeles County Computer Tape Storage (9-track, .5" x 7" reels)

If these were the original IBM System 360 reels, each reel held 20MB.

Here's the fun part: This image shows 12 rows, each with about 200 reels.

At 20MB per reel, the total storage in this photo is about 4.8GB...

... or half what a $10 flash drive holds today.
