Patrick Marsh's quest, which we told you about yesterday, is 98% fulfilled. And that seems like success to us.
With lots of help from folks all across the nation, he collected photos of the snow that was on the ground yesterday in every state and Washington, D.C. -- with one exception. For now, he's got a 2005 photo of snow atop one of Hawaii's volcanoes. Buried somewhere in the 700 or so e-mails he still has to sift through, though, just could be the shot from Hawaii that confirms what he's sure of -- snow on the ground there Friday in the upper elevations.
Go here to see the whole collection. As Patrick writes here, he's still working to get them all into a Google Earth file as well.
And here's the piece that aired on All Things Considered yesterday about Patrick's effort:
A mostly personal-interest feed; tech, science and some weird humor thrown in --- just for fun.
